Ultrasound is run by Andy Hardie who was born in Newcastle in 1970. Andy graduated from Edinburgh University in 1992 with a degree in computer science and then chose to follow his calling and develop his music career. He has been the driving force behind a number of acclaimed local bands and has continued to learn and fine tune his trade. In 1998 he completed an HND in music technology. He has been instrumental in a number of local arts movements. Most notably The Rabble Alliance Collective and Home Cooking. Andy has over 20 years experience of the live music scene. He has been resident house sound engineer at some of the best North East venues including Bar 36, Newcastle Arts Centre, The Cooperage, The Cluny & currently The Carling Academy Newcastle. | Over the years Andy has worked with some of the biggest and best acts around. Highlights include The Fatback Band, Public Enemy, Thomas Truax, Jawbone, Fun Loving Criminals, Perry Farrells Satellite Party, Glen Tilbrook, Hugh Cornwell, Hayseed Dixie, Alabama 3, The Delays, Kaiser Chiefs & Bloc Party. He has also worked with many of the best local acts and promoters including The Golden Virgins, The Guessmen, Amber Souls, The Bagdaddies, Principle 3, Kubichek, The Dans, The Fantastic Car, Fables Last Stand, Kaikoura, Odd Shaped Head, Super Massive Object, Beccy Owen, The Bubble Project, The Clack, Funk Conspiracy, FNUK, Prancy Dog, Too Far North, Insangel, Freaky Dancing, Acoustic Circus and many many more. He has done a number of high profile national and festival tours which included venues such as T in the park, Glastonbury, Leeds / Reading Festivals and King Tuts. Unfortunately he had to turn down the role of monitor engineer on the Arctic Monkeys break through first tour. |
